Application of Suqing brand ion exchange resin in internal cold water treatment

The corrosion problem of copper wires in the internal cooling water system of generators due to water quality is a common problem both domestically and internationally. The corrosion products of copper wires can increase the conductivity of the internal cooling water, causing the problem of corrosion products blocking the system and endangering the safe operation of the generator. At present, the commonly used internal cooling water treatment methods for power generation units both domestically and internationally (anti-corrosion and purification treatment methods mainly include simply supplementing desalinated water or condensate operation, adding copper corrosion inhibitor to the internal cooling water, small mixed bed treatment, and double small mixed bed treatment) are difficult to meet the requirements of qualified conductivity and pH value in the internal cooling water in actual production, that is, the pH of the internal cooling water in the generator is between 7-8, and the conductivity is less than 2 us/cm. There are two ways to use condensed water and desalinated water as water sources for internal cooling water. The national electricity standard requires that the cooling water inside the generator of units above 200MW should use desalinated water or condensed water. The water quality requirements are:
pH(25℃):7.0-9.0;
Conductivity (25 ℃): ≤ 2.0us/cm;
Hardness:<2.0umol/l;
Copper content: ≤ 40ug/l;
Dissolved oxygen ≤ 30 ug/l (fully closed internal cooling water system);
Ammonia solubility<300 ug/l;
The above indicators are interrelated, and the most important one is the pH value, because the purpose of controlling the pH value of internal cooling water is to prevent corrosion of copper wires, and the stable pH range of copper is between 7 and 10. Its value is too low, and the water is acidic, leading to corrosion of copper wires, excessive copper ions, increased conductivity, and other issues, thereby causing a series of safety hazards. Therefore, in the treatment of internal cooling water, conductivity and pH value are the two most critical indicators.
At present, the main method for treating internal cooling water is to use ion exchange resin treatment. However, although the conductivity of the treated water using the ordinary mixed bed treatment method for makeup water is very low (less than 0.2us/cm), its pH value is generally less than 7.0, which cannot meet the basic requirements of internal cooling water. For this reason, our company has specially designed different models of special resins for internal cooling water treatment to meet the requirements of the inlet and outlet water quality of internal cooling water. Due to the fact that the internal cooling water resin is composed of different resins, different proportions, and different types of special ratios, the following precautions should be taken during the filling and use process:
1. When filling, the phenomenon of resin layering should be prevented.
2. During use, it is necessary to prevent resin leakage and air intake from causing bias flow, and it is prohibited to backwash the resin.
3. To ensure the stability of the inlet water quality of the internal cooling water.
4. Ensure the accuracy of monitoring instruments, especially the pH meter (if online, offline meters are not accurate).
